What’s a passkey and how does it make signing in easier and more secure?
What is a passkey?
Passkeys are secure, encrypted digital keys that let you sign in to your account without using a password, on compatible devices.
They use your device’s built-in security to confirm your identity using passwordless authentication methods like fingerprint, face recognition, or device PIN. They’re supported by major tech providers including Microsoft, Google, and Apple.
Benefits of using passkey:
- Enhanced security - passkeys use encryption, so they can’t be stolen, guessed or phished
- Convenience - passkeys can sync across devices linked to the same Apple ID or Google account
- Seamless login - sign in with biometrics or your device PIN
Important to know:
- Passkeys won’t replace passwords or PINs entirely. You’ll still need to set up a PIN as a backup.
- If you regularly open the app using passkey, you won’t need to enter your email and password each time.
- If you don’t log in for a period of 30 days or more, you’ll be asked to enter your email and password when you next sign in.
How to set up a passkey:
- Open the NuWealth app
- Go to Account
- Tap Passkey and follow the on-screen instructions
